Some slot games play faster than others, but the Light Speed slot game certainly has some appealing features to explore when you’re ready for the journey. You might have an idea of the theme up for grabs in this slot, but there is way more on offer here than you’d believe. Prepare for a journey through the elements of our full slot game review to learn more about it.
Developer details
This is a lesser-known game from Realtime Gaming. RTG has done a fine job here though, so we encourage you to check it out.
Demo information
You can learn plenty about this game simply from looking at a screen shot, but you should be able to find it available with a practice mode at participating casinos.
What’s the theme?
We’re looking into outer space here, traveling toward a place where aliens are commonplace… and capable of bringing us prizes, too.
Showcasing a classic design
A classic design means this game appears inside a one-armed bandit machine. The graphics suit that idea, with the paytable above the reels and everything you need on one screen for convenience.
How to play the Light Speed slot
You may have already guessed there are only three reels in this game. Did you also guess there might be a progressive jackpot involved? You’ll see this above the reels, in a dot matrix panel that suits the aged look of the game.
A cute little robot figure is used as a wild, and this can substitute for all but one other symbol in the game. The exception is the Light Speed symbol. We’ll tell you more about that in a bit.
How many paylines does the Light Speed slot offer?
Just the one this time.
How much can you bet on the game?
There is only one coin size here, which is 25 cents. You can play up to three coins per spin, meaning the biggest spin wager is 75 cents.
Where is the paytable?
Right above the reels in the upper portion of the machine casing. You can see there are various prizes for assorted icons, depending on how many coins you placed on the line when a prize ends up appearing.
Watch for the bonus Light Speed Meter
At the top of the game screen, you’ll see the Light Speed game title. To the right of that, you’ll see a number inside a circle. This says 1x when you begin. This is the Light Speed Meter, and it’s worth mentioning that this part of the game only works if you make the maximum 75-cent bet on each spin.
Whenever a Light Speed symbol turns up on the payline, it increases the multiplier in the meter by one. If you then get a winning combo on the payline, it multiplies by whichever amount is shown in the meter. When this occurs, the meter goes back to 1x.
Any chance of a few free spins?
No, not in this slot game.
RTP unknown
This is quite common among RTG slots, so we cannot give you the data on this.
Our rating for the Light Speed slot game
This certainly warrants a decent 7/10 score, given the basic nature coupled with a progressive jackpot chance. We liked the multiplier feature in the Light Speed Meter, and of course, unlocking the jackpot shouldn’t be that easy! Be aware you’ll only have a chance to find that jackpot with the maximum bet, though.
How can you scoop the progressive jackpot prize?
This is tricky, as you’d imagine it would be. You must reach the maximum 7x value on the Light Speed Meter while simultaneously getting three ray guns to land on the payline. This drops the total progressive into your account.
Play the practice version to test it for yourself
You should find the demo version at any casino offering this game. There are lots of RTG-powered casinos to choose from, too.
Will you play the real thing?
Enjoy the alien theme in this progressive jackpot slot from RTG, offering the chance of a jackpot prize for 75 cents per play.
What about some mobile access?
It doesn’t look like you can play the slot on mobile devices yet. However, we know RTG has overhauled some of its older slots to work without Flash, so maybe mobile access is next, too.
